1.5 Fancy Baby Cage

Tilde cries loudly and cries often.

Cinnamon has a very hands off approach to parenting.

There's a reason she bought this fancy baby cage.

Life is just a never-ending nightmare, isn't it, Cinnamon?

She knows she's not supposed to play favorites, but Jym is her least favorite.

Unlike his sisters, Jym almost never cries. He merely stares at his mother expectantly, judgmentally, giving no indication of what he wants.

The triplets are all let out to play together once their father returns home from work. This is the daily routine, and they seem to look forward to it. Cinnamon expected them to fuss and fight, as she is told she was an absolute terror toddler herself, but the three of them share their toys amicably.

Igs also lets the dogs into the house and the nursery.

Cinnamon normally relegates them to playing outside.

I think they're pretty spoiled dogs, though.

Enjoy those opulent two hours of sleep, you procreating fools.

With Igs off work on Saturday, Cinnamon can finally get some work done at the nectary. One would think this would put her in a better mood, but it does not. I found her in a heated argument with Benni Hennessy.

Ignatius shouldn't be surprised by all the curse words in Jym's vocabulary, and yet somehow he is.

Coffee & Toffee grow into large dogs.

Sophie cannot believe how quickly they've grown.

Luckily for them, the property is big enough to accommodate three very large dogs. Both "puppies" will be staying with the family.

Just so long as they don't dig up any of Cinnamon's prize winning plants.

Not to be outdone by the dogs, the triplets age from toddlers to children.

This calls for a major restructuring of the house. A large basement is added downstairs for entertaining guests. Side rooms lead to extra bathrooms, bedrooms for the children, and a wine cellar Cinnamon has been wanting for a while.

Cinnamon now has her own wine-making equipment too, so she doesn't have to put up with Benni anymore.

Glycerine's favorite color is purple. She likes stuffed animals, books, painting, and playing dress up.

Jym's favorite color is red. He likes ladybugs, firetrucks, space ships, dragons, pop songs, and sleeping in.

Tilde is the odd one out. Her bedroom is the one upstairs... the one originally intended for the one child Cinnamon and Ignatius were planning on.

Tilde's favorite color is green. She likes spaghetti, horses, sportsball, horses, and the outdoors, but mainly horses.

Cinnamon says she can't have any real horses, so she makes due with plastic and wooden varieties.

The cribs are sold, but the triplets retain a sort of ownership over their old nursery, as it is now their designated shared space playroom.

They are never bored, with plenty of toys to choose from. Their choices here reflect their career aspirations; Jym wants to be a well-paid chef like his father, Glycerine wants to settle down with the perfect man and have a perfect ten or twelve children, and Tilde wants to be an outlaw.

Etc.: I always tell myself I will move my sims into a bigger house to meet their space needs instead of building them a big ugly basement, and then I get impatient and end up building them a big ugly basement.

1.4 Three of Them

Ignatius Quill planned for one child and had a small nursery carved out for him or her on the second floor of the modest house he shared with his wife.

The triplets changed his plans.

One of the large gardening rooms had to be stripped of all its potted plants to make room for a nursery large enough to accommodate three babies... and our man Igs here could not be happier.

Cinnamon Quill, as usual, is a different story.

From the moment they were born, she resented her babies. Why did there have to be three of them? Why did the universe have to kick her around like this?

"It's a blessing," Ignatius sighed. "You'll see."

"They are always crying," Cinnamon snarled.

"They won't stay tiny forever."

"That's easy for you to say. You get to leave the house when you're expected to go to work and be productive. I'm expected to come running in every time there's a noise on the baby monitor."

"We could hire someone-"

"I don't want some IDIOT in our house doing who knows what when I'm not looking!"

So that was that. There would be no help. There would only be resentment.

Sometimes it seemed like Sophie cared more about the babies than their mother did.

Cinnamon's energy for nurturing was obviously... elsewhere.

Ignatius often returned home from work to find the triplets all screaming, with empty bellies and soiled diapers, and couldn't be certain if they'd had any attention since he left the house earlier.

After what seemed like such a short time, the babies were toddlers, and eager to spend time out of their cribs.

Glycerine, named after the song on the delivery room nurse's ringtone, inherited her father's dark hair and odd bluish highlights.

Tilde, the most active and impulsive, was the one of the three most likely to escape the nursery and go tumbling down the stairs. Her father worried about that a lot.

And Jym... the only boy. Ignatius supposed Cinnamon simply ran out of inspiration. But she still wouldn't go for his lame suggestion of Jim. Nope, she had to throw a Y in there to upset people.

While the family dynamics strain, the financial situation steadily improves.

The Quills finally have enough cash to get rid of that striped wallpaper.
